As I back away from the last several days of researching and pondering homelessness, I must say it has been an utterly fascinating journey.
Sure, most of the details are unpleasant, but I picked up on one truth that was astounding: many of the homeless people – want to be there!
Maybe it’s a desensitized rebellion, but those folks do not want to leave.
Is it learning that . . . ‘enjoying all the pleasures we think we have’ is NOT better than ‘the Freedom from them’? We still have the ability to choose to be; un-governable, un-restricted, answering to no one, un-taxable, a clean slate. How high a priority is that for you, now? How about later on?
Trading in comfort . . . for Freedom.
Is that the destiny for all of us?
