Why the search? Why put any effort into discovery if you know from the start you’ll never really let go of the direction your mind dictates you go?
You wonder, ‘Is this all there is to life?’ Via hit-or-miss, one day you sense the proximity of the ‘crossover point’ and the doubt begins to amass.
‘I’m just not ready right now. Maybe tomorrow.’ You look away, scuffle your feet, pretend there is something more important. You look to see if any one else is going across. You want a cup of coffee to think things over – again. Handing over the reins, my reins; to take a chance at finding something more elevated!
There’s no penalty for indecision.
But once you say ‘No’ . . .
saying ‘Yes’ becomes harder and harder.
