In attempting to lure the highest into our lives we often try tactics where we ‘do nothing’; things like silence and meditation.
If we ‘do nothing’ but in doing so have some type of expectation associated with it, that is nothing but a ruse. You are deluding yourself.
You are saying to yourself, ‘Yes, in silence I’ll meditate and clear my mind. I truly want to experience this highest level.’ But at the foundation you’re declaring, ‘O.K., I have four and a half minutes right now. Bring the answer to this question so I can use it this afternoon.’
Doing nothing, with some desire in mind, completely defeats the purpose of wooing the transcendental.
