The Non-disappearing Forest

Things are, what we tell ourselves they are.

A ‘gain’ – is it good or bad? A ‘loss’ – is it good or bad? Only you can answer that.

A kind benefactor offers you a million dollars every time you hear the word ‘jackass’. An irate friend yells at you, ‘You are a jackass.’ Your feelings about that action are probably different with that bonus attached to the yelled message,

Metaphors abound. You hear a fairy tale and tell yourself that it is truth. It then becomes truth for you – all because of the little word ‘is’. Life is a mess. My world is amazing. My thoughts are garbage. Believe any statement you wish, and it becomes reality – for you.

‘Any concerns in my life that linger become trees, which hinder me from seeing what is really going on.’

A beautiful forest becomes unobservable if the preceding sentence is believed. The forest is still there, the grandeur is still there, but you can’t see it because of the magnitude of the trees (problems) in the foreground.

‘All my limiting beliefs have disappeared.’

Believe that last sentence and we are done for today!

  1. It would be interesting to take a poll of the people you meet today and ask them if it is possible for them to eliminate all their limiting beliefs(if they have any). And then ask them how they plan to do that or why they don’t think that is possible.
