Could we, in these unprecedented times of isolation and solitude, create a new meaning for the ramifications of this virus we all are enduring?
Perhaps a euphemism, but better if it had real meaning. Instead of debilitating it would be viewed as potential. Not bringing us closer to death, but closer to emancipation.
We can abide by the standards of sequestration, but those standards don’t effect how we think – unless we allow them to do just that.
We are pilgrims once again. We can pull another pillow over our heads – or – we can stand up and see what is now possible with these mandated circumstances in which we all now live.
These are truly unique times. Let’s not wait until the impact is over before discovering what our daily routines now make available to us.
It is interesting how change always seems to come with negativity attached. ‘Oh my, things aren’t like they were.’ That is sure true, but maybe they are better in some ways.
Even if this brings only a time of introspection it might highlight an area of our lives and show it to us in a new perspective.
I envision a news channel being created where only wonderful things brought about by this virus are shown. Maybe examples of; home schooling, cooking, new uses for a room, a time each day for something we have never done, communication, love, role playing, writing, play, art, internet, TED Talks, online courses, and on and on . . .
Perhaps thinking of the changes as ‘gifts’ instead of ‘chains’ might bring hope to many and amazement to others.
It’s a new world – be Brave. See where those apples may have rolled.
