Who were you yesterday?
A collection of memories, correct? An entity bound together by experiences.
We each claim some portion of creativity, but when we are asked a question or requested to perform some action no original thought is involved, we just tap a button in our memory and that same old answer appears, or another rerun of a decade old video.
If we’ve done something a few times and the results were acceptable that becomes a button in our memory. What we end up becoming are glorified button-pushers for any action imaginable. Even if we have an action to perform and we have no button exactly for that action, we just choose the closest one and give it a try. And if that doesn’t work well enough we push the ‘Excuse me, I made a mistake’ button, or one similar.
Can you imagine the chaos if our selection of buttons was destroyed!? Every step, procedure or undertaking would require thought and planning. We’d have to reconsider everything we’ve done. It would be a time to re-strategize every effort. But, the possibilities for betterment would be ever-present.
Yep, the time has come for you to press the ‘Finished Reading’ button and just like always these words will disappear. It has to be pressed, though, doesn’t it? How else is there to get to the next appropriate button?
And, where is that button to EDIT those hard-wired algorithms? Ah – you have to wait for the next update to be able to do that. Until then, everything remains as it was yesterday.
