Mountain Top Screaming

It’s your turn. Next Sunday between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 10:15 A.M. It’s your turn to take the mic and scream your message. A message that thanks to social media and satellites will be translated and heard by every human being, simultaneously. A message that must be screamed, no holds barred, no reticence, no equivocation. We are seven days away from your Mountain Top Screaming. Your chance to proclaim to everyone YOUR choices of thoughts for bettering the human race.

If people actually accepted this opportunity it would be fascinating to understand their reasoning for their selection of the topics chosen. On what would you base your selections? Would you grab the mic and begin screaming about something personal that happened to you? Would your choices have to be verifiable? Would they be demonstrably concise or abstract? Would they be topics that try to heal the past or to assure things are better going forward?

There is, of course another scenario where someone might scream, ‘I don’t know!’ Might this be your choice?

We’ve all seen movies where someone was almost tortured with questions like, ‘Why did you drink and drive!?’ Then, finally, the person just screams, ‘I don’t know! with tears streaming down their face. It is truly a poignant moment to which we can all relate.

Perhaps the above comments mean little to you. You know what you would scream. You have no doubts. You can sense where your emphases would be and your pauses for impact. I admire you. I am in awe. Congratulations.

As much as I might enjoy winning the prize for the best ‘Mountain Top Screamer’ I would still just scream ‘I don’t know’. Screaming it once every five seconds for fifteen minutes would equate to one hundred and eighty times. Hopefully my throat could hold out that long.

And who knows?

If the judges consider deeper than superficial, the ‘I don’t knows’ just may have a chance at winning.

But it may take 181.

Know nothing opens the door to infinite possibilities. Perhaps the only way through!
